well, this is it. our last day at the tin lizzie cafe. we bought the restaurant during a depression, endured 5 years of road construction, over 2 years of construction on our facade, COVID and high inflation and survived! we supported nonprofits, little league teams, families in need, other restaurants just starting out, and others who just needed a hand. we're proud of what we did to make our little part of the world just a little better. we leave knowing we did our best and feel good about leaving it in the hands of the next owners.
we want to thank our family. we can't count the number of times our kids stepped up and stepped in to help. they 'saved our bacon' more times that we could list and did it without complaint. from helping when the motorcycle group came to down and didn't have a place to eat (phew! that was a day!), to getting the 12' christmas down from the overhead storage area and decorating for christmas, to cleaning and painting, to working in the tea shop, to just being an extra set of hands immediately anytime we sent out the bat signal. we couldn't have survived without you and love you for all you've done.
and to our friends who have supported us for these past 11 years. to our morning regulars and lunch regulars, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. you made the tin lizzie feel like home. to those who popped in occasionally. thanks for coming when you could. for those who ordered caterings. that was the 'gravy' that kept us going during COVID. thanks for that!
and now, we wish you a fond farewell as we slip gently into the next chapter of our lives. we love you all and thank you for these past amazing 11 years.
it's just you and me now, babe.
