We had the most incredible dinner last night in Greene, Maine. A short drive into the countryside was absolutely beautiful and a nice time to decompress from the week before we indulged with our five course meal! A short drive up Sedgley Road, we were greeted by a charming historic farmhouse decorated perfectly for the holiday season. The cozy, warm and romantic vibe inside instantly made sense as to why they were named one of the most romantic restaurants in Maine. We were too engrossed in conversation with the friendly staff to picture the homemade bread with honey butter that we devoured or our desserts (all made in house). It was a difficult decision on which entrees to select but we were very happy with our selections. felt that he was transported back down south with his gumbo entree, which to be honest made us feel like we were eating the shrimp n grits from our foodtruck, and a very nostalgic moment for us. We had an amazing night and lots of leftovers this morning for breakfast as the chef/owner ensures you don’t leave hungry! A beautiful spot for you all to check out, especially this winter to experience the cozy vibe!

whirlwind trip up to for some r&r, could have stayed a week or 2 or ….forever. stayed , our most favorite place to stay in . She has a new innkeeper, and although we missed Ruth, Jenn and her team is doing a fabulous job. Dinner was delicious, breakfast was wonderful and now I require all smoothies accompanied with sugar glazed bananas. not pictured was our spa experience, just what the doctor ordered. Hope to be back soon for another memorable sunset.

We love their housemade vermouth and now they have incorporated it into their new drink - ! It’s a refreshing carbonated grape wine made with their Drink ME 93 vermouth. O.M.G this is a refreshing spin on a classic drink we LOVE! You could just pour over ice and enjoy…. Or add some bourbon 😉

Chef Aaron (AJ) Pietzyk fell in love with food at a young age, but never thought that food and love would land him in RVA. After studying Food Science at Clemson University, Aaron moved to Charleston to chase his dream of becoming a chef. Aaron trained at the Art Institute of Charleston in South Carolina where he then went on to work for the next five years at the iconic Poogans Porch Restaurant imbedded in the culinary mecca of the south, Charleston, South Carolina. Working his way up from line cook to the Chef de Cuisine, Aaron expanded his repertoire of southern lowcountry cuisine exponentially. Living in such a culinary rich world, he never gave it a thought of leaving the southern charm city of Charleston, and then fate happened. He met his now wife while on a vacation in Key West, fast forward and this chef is now starting a new chapter in his life here in Richmond, Virginia! Aaron hopes to bring the deliciousness of lowcountry cuisine here to the river city by an unconventional method - a food truck. We hope you enjoy the love Aaron creates, which to most of us is just called food.
