This is where Chez Foushee started.

Chef Whitney cold-called the retired executive chef of Chez Panisse, one of the world’s most celebrated restaurants, and asked him to teach her. He said yes.

She found herself in his kitchen in Saint-Émilion, France, learning the mother sauces and a strawberry tart. “I had to pinch myself,” she says.

That’s the French in French-inspired Southern cuisine.

If you haven’t experienced Chez Foushee, this week is a great time to start.
