Our space is comfortable and lovely, with living walls, padded chairs and semi-circular booths, a classic mirrored bar, and a backyard garden patio. Brothers and natives of Danville, Virginia, one or both of Scott Lewis and Mark Lewis were at S

ix Burner, The Roosevelt, and Southbound before reuniting to becoming the co-chef team at Laura Lee's. Ben Nelson is the talent behind Laura Lee's cocktails and the master of the frozen drink machine. Kendra Feather owns 2 other restaurants in Richmond, Virginia. Feather opened Garnett's Cafe in 2009 and The Roosevelt in 2011. She was a founding partner of WPA Bakery (Church Hill) in November 2012, and got her start in the business opening Ipanema Cafe in 1998. She was named Restaurateur of the Year by Richmond Magazine in 2013, and featured in The Virginia Table in 2015. Laura Lee's is named for Kendra's mother Laura Lee Feather, daughter of Garnett Beckman.

A big storm blew through Richmond yesterday afternoon and our power went out. So, we decided to frequent our lovely neighborhood restaurant, Laura Lee's. Well, the owner, Kendall, stopped by our table to thank us for the support we had given them throughout the pandemic. I was so overwhelmed by her graciousness and the fact that she noticed all of our takeout orders that I basically stammered something incomprehensible back. It was only upon reflection that I have come up with what to say, which is THANK YOU, Laura Lee's and all of the other wonderful places that kept us fed and sane for the past year plus. Thank you for all of the wonderful food, the delicious cocktails, the smiles, and for simply taking care of us on the nights that we needed help. You are a necessary and valuable part of our lives and we APPRECIATE YOU!!!!!! So, we haven't done anything. We appreciate you noticing but we are the ones who want to thank you for all that you have done. Life would not be the same without you!
