ith a sidewalk coffee trailer in the fall of 2012. After bouncing around the city for several years, we fell in love with an open spot at VCU and decided to open our first storefront on campus in the newly renovated Arts Depot building. A few years after that, we decided to close up shop but then received a message on Instagram from a local restauranteur that was eager to keep the shop alive. He bought the shop, we sold the trailer, and now Alchemy exists under new ownership but still in the VCU Arts Depot building. We've added more food options and broadened our beverage selection. Visit us any day of the week from 8a-7p

Good morning everyone! We are so excited to welcome you back to the Lab this morning with our usual hours and menu. Thank you for all of the community support and patience as we dealt with unexpected water issues this past week. We have taken all of the necessary precautions to welcome you back into a safe and delicious space. Pop by the shop this week and show us how much you missed us!

Hey everyone. We’re eager to be slinging coffee again for you, but we’re unfortunately still waiting for the green light on the boil advisory. Safety and good health for our team and all of you is the most important for us, so we’ll have to hold off again tomorrow, Friday Jan 10th from service. Being a coffee shop, it’s really tough to navigate situations like this when so much of our product is dependent on good, safe water. We appreciate your patience and appreciation, and look forward to serving you very soon. We will update accordingly, and open back up whenever we can serve a product not only tasty, but safe for you!
