High On The Hog BBQ Pit cooked BBQ, using apple wood, hickory, and charcoal. Smoked the old fashioned way - propane and BBQ don't mix!!!! :) I cook pork butts, whole chickens, beef briskets,pork baby back & spare ribs, chicken wings, and also offer an outstanding low country boil.

There are 2 things I will absolutely NEVER use - 1. Propane - real BBQ is cooked on wood and coal. And 2. Liquid Smoke - since I cook with hickory, the smoke flavor comes naturally. Make sure your BBQ is authentic!!! (what is liquid smoke anyway?!?!?)

Though the cost of pork has risen almost 50 cents in the last month, my per person cost remains the same, just like it has for the last 4 years AND YES, YOU STILL GET LEFTOVERS!!! I have never, and will never run out of food at your party, whether it's for 10 or 1000!!!

What a great May it's been, cooked about 640 lbs of pork butts, about 650 burgers, 700 hot dogs, truckloads of beans, slaw, potato salad, who knows how many gallons of sauce, wow.... June is heating up too - thank you all for your continued support. Nothing makes me smile like hearing how much you enjoy eating what I enjoy cooking!!!
