Richmond family, we know things are a little stormy right now—with the citywide boil water advisory and more snow on the way, it’s been quite a week! ❄️💧 Rest assured, we’re closely following all health department guidelines to keep you safe while serving up the sweetness you love. 🍦✨

We’ll be open during our normal business hours this weekend, but we’ll continue to monitor the situation and adjust if needed. To help with water conservation efforts, we won’t be accepting walk-ins for our Ice Cream Labs this weekend.

Happy New Year, ice cream lovers! It's been a while since we've said hello and with 2025 making its grand introduction, we figured we'd do the same! We're the Wynns - the family behind Richmond's first and only ice cream making workshop, Sweet Wynns. It’s hard to believe how much has changed since we opened back in November 2022. We’re so incredibly thankful for each and every one of you who’ve been part of our journey. Read below to learn more about us!

Meet Taryn
🍦On weekends, you can find me leading adult & kids ice cream workshops. While I love them all, the Ice Cream Lab has become my favorite (shh - don't tell the others!)
🎙️ I started listening to true crime podcasts last year, so obviously I'm an unofficial detective now. Move over Veronica Mars!
☀️ As a winter baby, I've always dreamed of spending my birthday in Australia so I could celebrate with the warm sun. I'll get there one day, I hope!

Meet Pierre
⭐ I usually help behind the scenes, but last month I worked my first shift at the Ice Cream Lab and earned a 5-star review on Google!
🎵 In middle school, I played the trombone and was first chair - don't ask me to play it now unless you want your ears to hurt!
⛳ When I get a free moment, I love to golf.

🥣 There's 3 of us now! We're still too small to help at the shop, but we love making ice cream with Mommy and Daddy!
📸 Taking pictures is hard work. But we managed to sit still for this one - pretty impressive for us (ages: 5, 3, and 12 months).

🦃🍂 This Thanksgiving, we’re feeling extra grateful for YOU—our growing Sweet Wynns family of 6K ice cream lovers! It’s amazing to look back and see how far we’ve come. What started as a dream that felt out of reach became a reality thanks to the incredible team at . They gave us a chance to work out of their kitchen, where we hosted our very first ice cream workshops and whipped up those first batches of joy. Those early days were filled with hustle, heart, and so many sweet memories. 🥰✨

Today, as we scroll through these throwback pics, we’re reminded of just how much love and support has built this business—from our humble beginnings to the bustling workshops we have now. Every scoop, smile, and workshop has been made sweeter because of YOU.

Hey Friends! My name is Taryn & I’m the owner of - Richmond’s first and only ice cream making workshop 🍦

Owning a small business can be tough and feel overwhelming at times 😅. Luckily, I had the privilege of attending Content Camp hosted by yesterday where I met so many incredible entrepreneurs. These women had YEARS of experience and I thought I’d feel lost in a sea of powerhouses. Thankfully, I felt right at home and was welcomed with open arms🤗

I am filled with such gratitude for them and for all of you. If you have ever come to an ice cream workshop, told a friend about us, followed us on Instagram, shared an encouraging word, or are even just reading this - THANK YOU! It means the world to me ✨

Entrepreneurship does NOT come with a manual. What works for you might not work for someone else. And there will be times that you’ll fail, but keep going 💪🏾

Have you been curious about what actually happens at the Sweet Wynns ice cream making workshop?! 🍨🧐 Well we’re glad you asked!When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by your Workshop Assistant who will check you in and give you an apron and a name tag. You and your partner will also get to choose whether you’ll be creating a vanilla, chocolate, or peanut butter-based ice cream. 🍨 🍫🥜

Next, you’ll head over to your workstation where our Sweet Team will give you a crash course on ice cream history before giving you samples to try. These ice creams are inspired by the early American flavors of the 1700s. Put your tastebuds to the test and see if you can guess them all correctly! 📚😉

Then, it’s time to create your own flavor. Working with your partner, you’ll follow along as your Workshop Instructor walks through our recipe for the BEST premium, homemade ice cream. 🥣😋

While your ice cream churns, you’ll be served a four-scoop flight of our delicious, signature flavors 🍦✈️

Once your ice cream is ready, you’ll pack your pint. Each ice cream maker will select 3 yummy add-ins to layer in your ice cream. Finally, you’ll channel your creativity by naming your creation. Once you’re done, we’ll put your pint in our blast freezer to harden and then it’s all yours to take home and enjoy! 🏡😌
