For the past four years, we have been incredibly lucky to get to know the thousands of you who have helped us make Salt & Forge what it is today. Some of you have been our amazing staff who have cooked the best biscuits in Richmond or made someone’s day with a good laugh or a hot cup of coffee. Some of you have been our amazing guests who motivated us to find creative ways to help a young business survive during these challenging past couple years.
To all of you, we will always owe a deep debt of gratitude. So it is with sadness that we let you all know that we are closing our doors so we can move on to the next chapter in our lives. Our last day open for business as usual will be Sunday, February 13th. We hope we can see all of you in the next couple weeks to say goodbye and serve you one last meal.
We could never have built Salt & Forge into what it is without our amazing staff, and we are committed to helping find each of them new homes where their talents and individual personalities can be truly appreciated. Currently, we have a team of eight incredible people. On a personal level, I will miss my team and the opportunities I have had to meet each of you. But as I have constantly urged my team to grow and evolve, I have done so as well. Some of you who know me more closely know I have struggled with finding a balance between being an apolitical business owner and becoming more politically and socially active. I cannot continue to watch from the sidelines as our social and political atmosphere becomes even more toxified. To devote myself to building a better society for all, not just some, in a strategic, civil, and collaborative manner, I have to close Salt & Forge so I can responsibly take these next steps. Thank you all and we can’t wait to see you over the next couple weeks to say goodbye.
