Hey friends- a bit of an update.

We have officially moved Halloweenfest from Sat Oct 31st to Friday, Oct 30th. We were simply having issues with staff and also getting teen volunteers for the trail as they wanted to be with friends for Halloween night. Totally get that.

The time will be 5-11pm. The Costume Contests will start at 6pm (sign ups are FCFS from 5-6pm at the DJ stand).

We are STILL looking for TRUNKS for trunk or treat. HF will assist with candy needs.

Also - we are looking for anyone who’d like to help out on the haunted trail. $40/pp and free pizza and drinks. Must be at least 14yrs old and have parents permission. Must provide own scary costume. It can be a zombie, witch, clown or anything similar.

6th Annual Onslow Veterans Pow Wow — Where Culture, Community & Veterans Come Together!

We are still on for National Night Out TOMORROW, Saturday, October 10 at Jacksonville Commons Rec Center, 100 Recreation Lane.

It may be a little rainy, but we are still excited about all that we have planned for our community:

🔵 Opening Ceremonies- 4 PM
🔵 Live Music- Marine Corps Rock Band opening, then Heart Stop & Catalyst Church bands taking over until 7 PM
🔵 Youth Bike Raffle- tickets go out at 4:30, Raffle starts at 5:15
🔵 K9 demos- 5:15- 6:15 PM on the baseball fields
🔵 Food trucks, vendors, resource tables, military vehicles, fire trucks, face painting, giveaways, and hands-on activities.

Entry is FREE and open to everyone!

We are excited to announce that our Head Staff and Drum Groups have been identified!🎶🥁 Stay tuned as we introduce these amazing individuals and drum groups who will help make this year’s Pow Wow unforgettable.

From the Grand Entry and traditional dancing to Native arts and crafts, delicious food, veterans’ recognition, and opportunities to learn about Indigenous culture, there will be something for everyone.
