This June, George is kicking off our “Dads of the Sawmill” with a very special guest: Ken Herrera

If you’ve ever heard our commercials on the radio, you already know his incredible voice. But Ken isn’t just our spokesperson—he and his family have been part of the Sawmill community for over a decade.

“My wife and I have been going to The Sawmill Inn for at least 11 years. In fact, we ‘discovered’ the restaurant even before I started doing the commercials! I have two sons—Chris lives in Peoria, and Joseph lives in Western Wisconsin, near Viroqua. I look forward to getting together with George & his staff.” — Ken Herrera

Today marks 44 years of The Sawmill Inn Restaurant and Pub serving the Richfield, WI community! 🎉

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing patrons, including those who’ve been joining us for generations—bringing family and friends to dine, celebrate, and create lasting memories. We’re so grateful for your continued support and for the chance to be part of your family traditions.

This Memorial Day weekend, we reflect on the true meaning of the holiday. Behind the scenes at The Sawmill Inn is a deep respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
Every year, our owner George honors the memory of Airman Lorraine "Laurie" Lucas, a fellow service member he served alongside at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam. In August 1991, during a training exercise, Airman Lucas was fatally injured in the line of duty. She is remembered in military history as the first USAF Security Police Woman to die in the line of duty.
Memorial Day is about ensuring the names and legacies of heroes like Laurie are never forgotten. We will always honor her sacrifice. Please join us in remembering Airman Lucas and all our fallen service members today. 🇺🇸🕊️

Meet the newer face behind your favorite Sawmill treats!

We all know Lorraine’s shoes were hard to fill, but we found the perfect person for the job. Meet Gillian M., our interim Baker! Gillian spent a full month working side-by-side with Lorraine, learning every secret and technique behind our famous handmade desserts and cookies.

A loyal Sawmill Inn team member since January 2019, Gillian is currently studying Criminal Justice when she’s not baking up deliciousness in the kitchen.

There is no greater honor than looking across our dining room and seeing three—sometimes four—generations of the same family sharing a meal together. For years, we’ve watched daughters become mothers, and mothers become grandmothers, all right here at our tables.

Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your family’s traditions. To the women who hold it all together, the ones who lead with love, and the ones who have been our "regulars" through every stage of life: we celebrate you today.

If you’ve been coming to The Sawmill Inn for a while, you definitely know KarLeigh. She’s been a part of our family for a long time, and today, George is whipping up her absolute favorite: Corkscrew Shrimp Tacos!
These aren’t your average tacos. Crispy, golden corkscrew shrimp paired with a fresh, snappy slaw. Finished with our tangy Thai chili sauce that could go on just about anything!
