Hey all,
I’m writing today to make an important announcement and to pay a gesture of unbridled gratitude to my community. Over the past five years I have come to know and love so many of you, and I have always been dumbstruck by the level of care and concern this community has given me in return. We have been through so much together, and through some of my most vulnerable moments I have always felt supported and lifted when I’ve needed it most.
That said, most of you know my story. Over recent years that story has been told, but it hasn’t been resolved. Finding peace, balance, and learning how to be a whole person again have now come into focus for me. The time has come for me to take better care of myself, and because of this, I have decided to list Camp 28 for sale. This has been a nearly impossible decision, but my need for a more manageable life has prevailed.
Please know that this isn’t the end.
We have done so much together! Most restaurants fail in the first year, we didn’t. Most restaurants don’t show profits in the first few years, we did. Most importantly, we have proven that this isn’t a cursed project, that it can be done. We’ve shown that with the right amount of drive, an abundance of love, and a dream, that this is possible, and even sustainable. We beat the odds and banked more then five years together! All of us did this, you and us. The hardest parts are already done. Camp has never been in a better place and there is nothing but potential beyond that. This isn’t to end; it is to be placed in capable and willing hands to continue for years to come. Now I’m just looking for those hands.
There is so much here to be grateful for, and in the coming weeks I’m sure I will have much more of that to share. Nothing every goes perfectly, and we’ve had our struggles, but over all this project has been a success, and the memories we’ve made are irreplaceable.
Going forward, it is BUSINESS AS USUAL. Until the right fit is ready to take it on, we stay the course. We are going to continue preserving this legacy and serving you to the last day of our tenure, whenever that may be. Our hope is that you’ll all be right beside us as you’ve always been, keeping the dream alive and preparing this place for its next chapter, with all these beautiful memories intact and plenty of new ones waiting to be made. We need our friends as much now as ever.
Again, nothing but love. There is no chance that I’d have survived some of the things I have without you guys. I was in the right place at the right time, and I will be eternally grateful for all of it. Thank you all, words can’t express how that feels.
