Greetings, A.L. Gerrig here.
Owner of Trade Winds Pub and a member of the Gerrig family behind Trade Winds Import Co. For generations, my family has traveled, traded, collected, and crossed paths with some rather extraordinary characters along the way.
Of all those I’ve encountered, few have fascinated me quite like Cornelius “Doc” Bodkins.
Our paths first crossed while exploring Egypt in 1901. Doc was a traveler, inventor, collector of curiosities, and a purveyor of some rather mysterious elixirs. We quickly discovered a shared appreciation for exploration, discovery, and all things extraordinary.
Through the years, my family and Trade Winds Import Co. have continued to procure rare herbs, botanicals, and curiosities for Doc’s many experiments and concoctions. Yet there is one curiosity I have never quite been able to explain…
The decades pass. The world changes. New discoveries are made. And somehow, Doc appears to move through it all remarkably unchanged.
His stories seem to span generations, his encounters reach across eras, and the list of remarkable minds he has crossed paths with only continues to grow. I’ve often wondered if there may be more truth to those so-called miracle elixirs of his than he lets on.
Now, after more adventures than I could possibly recount here, my old friend is preparing to open the doors to his own curious world right here in Downtown Reedley.
It is my pleasure to officially introduce you to Odds Bodkins Cocktails & Curiosities.
Consider this only the beginning. Follow as Doc’s story, discoveries, and curiosities begin to unfold.
