🎉 Today is my daughter’s birthday, so what better way to celebrate than by making some of HER favorite flavors?! 🥳💕

We started with a Funfetti Dot Cake 🎂✨ because birthdays obviously need sprinkles.

Then we combined two of her favorites into one BIG cookie — Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip 🍫🥜 These babies are thick, gooey, and a whopping 4½ ounces each. Definitely not your average cookie!

And since she’s gluten-free (and I am too!), we couldn’t leave out a little something for the GF crowd. 🤎 We made Gluten-Free Almond Biscotti, finished with chocolate. Because I know we can’t be the only gluten-free dessert lovers out there!

The Italian in us LOVES a good biscotti 🇮🇹☕️ — and there’s really nothing better than dunking one into a hot cup of coffee from Testa Coffee & W**e Shop.

Heads up! Tomorrow (Tuesday the 8th), we’ll be stocking Testa Coffee & W**e Shop fridge with:

•Pumpkin Cannoli (we’ve received quite a few requests for a refill as we’re told they sold out shortly after they landed) 😳 so if you weren’t able to get your hands on them, tomorrow’s your chance!

Sneak peek 👀 at tomorrow’s (9/01) Testa Coffee & W**e Shop Tuesday drop! By now, most of us are channeling fall, so we’ve started September out with a tease of fall 🍂 You’ll want to go early and grab some of these with your morning coffee because we’re sure they won’t last long!

🍁 Pumpkin Cannoli - dipped in white chocolate and then dipped in crushed praline pecans, filled with a pumpkin pie cannoli filling

🍁 Apple Pie Bars - need we say more? Great warm, with scoop of vanilla ice cream on top

🍁 Salted Caramel Mocha Cheesecake - majority of everyone’s favorite! Oreo crust, mocha base, with our indulgent salted caramel on top.

I’ve been trying hard to educate event coordinators when they call wanting to book us or any other food vendor.

Before committing to an event, these are some of the questions I ask:

🌭 How many people actually attended last year?
🌮 How many food vendors will be there?
🍔 Will free food be provided to guests, volunteers, or staff?
💵 Is there a vendor fee or percentage of sales?
⏰ How many hours are vendors expected to operate?
📢 How and where is the event being advertised?

I also share “vendor math” with coordinators.

If an event expects 200 people, maybe only 100 actually attend. If half purchase food, that gives us approximately 50 paying customers. Divide those customers among four food vendors, and each vendor may only serve 12–13 people.

At an average ticket of $20, that is only $240–$260 in gross sales—not profit. We still have to subtract the vendor fee, food costs, employee wages, fuel, permits, insurance, preparation time, and any unsold food.

Food vendors are small businesses. Showing up requires a significant investment before we ever make our first sale. Accurate attendance numbers, a reasonable number of vendors, strong advertising, and fair vendor fees can determine whether an event is successful or a financial loss.

We love supporting community events, but the numbers have to make sense for everyone involved. A successful event should benefit the coordinator, the guests, and the vendors who helped make it happen.
