Registration is officially CLOSED — but don’t count yourself out just yet! 👀🌶️ We may have a few same-day registration opportunities if last-minute spots open up.

The peppers get HOTTER with every round… and yes, we’re going all the way up to GHOST PEPPER! And if our contestants can still handle the heat… we may even have to pull out the CAROLINA REAPER. 😳🔥🌶️ 👻🌶️

Join us for Redding's First Annual Hot Pepper Eating Contest at the Redding Farmers Market on Saturday, August 15!
Contestants will work their way through a lineup of peppers that starts off mild with Shish*tos and Jalapeños, then quickly escalates through Serranos, Cayennes, Thai Chilis, Scotch Bonnets/Habaneros, and finishes with the legendary Ghost Pepper—reaching over 1 million Scoville Heat Units! 🌶️🔥
Hosted by the always entertaining Ben Roberts , this is sure to be one of the hottest events of the summer!

Our Certified Farmers Markets are some of the oldest in the State of CA. We operate 4 Farmers Markets - three in Redding and one in Burney. All of these are certified though the Shasta County Ag Commissioner and the CDFA. For operating hours click link.
