For 20 years, The King’s Cupboard has been producing chocolaty, rich, delicious yet all-natural dessert products. Our innovative product development, a conviction to use only pure, simple, natural ingredients as well as our relentless quest for exceptional cacao products has led to 13 NASFT Sofi awards with two garnered in 2010. While we are extremely proud of our products and accolades, we embrace the idea that business serves a purpose beyond dollars and cents. To that end, we are committed to enhancing the lives of our co-workers, nurturing the community in which we live and striving to be more “green”. The King’s Cupboard started with two employees and now provides a living for 12 full time, fully benefited co–workers. We are passionate about increasing opportunities for our co–workers, fostering leadership and promoting from within. A strong team atmosphere and a genuine respect for each other make The King’s Cupboard a great place to share our days. Red Lodge, Montana is a wonderful community and we feel grateful to have the opportunity to support a multitude of dedicated organizations including Beartooth Cupboards (community food bank), Beartooth Hospital, Beartooth Nature Center, The Boys and Girls Club, Domestic Violence Services, Human Resource Development Council, Red Lodge and Roberts Fire Departments, local schools and many more. Our processing facility overlooks the spectacular Beartooth Mountains – a constant reminder that we need to lessen our environmental impact. We source local agricultural ingredients (more than 70% in some products) to support local growers and decrease transport distances. We have a recycling program in place and have supported efforts to launch a comprehensive countywide recycling program. Heat from our processing equipment is captured and used to heat our warehouse in the winter months and cool, outside evening air is brought in to control our building temperature in the warmer months – both of which substantially reduce our carbon footprint. Our chocolate and cocoa are domestically processed – reducing transportation needs and increasing our support of domestic businesses. The King’s Cupboard’s most recent “green” initiative was to launch a line of organic products in an effort to support organic farming and further lessen our global impact.
