Well it’s been an amazing ride, but we have decided to sell Clancy’s. It happened very fast. An offer was made Tuesday and we closed on it Thursday. I want to thank the loyal customers that always stood by our side. It really comes down to that. The people who come in and purchase food. They allowed us to provide for our family for 15 plus years. We got married, had two children, and bought a home while owning the cafe. I came in here when I was 26 years old. I will be 42 this year. I am ready for the next chapter. My crew, all who decided to work for me, and especially the ones still with me at the end. I know I wasn’t always the easiest to deal with, but we pulled it together and delivered a product I was proud of. Steve O my man you held it down bro. You got a key for a reason dude. Bri and Cobi you guys are smart and truly know how to destroy them tickets, cause if we ain’t selling food we ain’t making money! Sammie Jo you can truly hold it down in the front of the house and lead a team of servers. Mrs Belinda I know you are heaven watching down on us. Everything changed when you left. That has to be a true testament to how great a person is. The void that is left behind when they are gone. So many workers that have been side by side with me through the battles on Friday night. Thank y’all for real. My mom and stepdad Barry you guys know I wouldn’t have made it this far without your support and direction. The endless hours of payroll and taxes for the cafe that you never got paid for. You did it because you loved me and wanted my family to be good. The money you loaned me in hard times to float payroll or whatever. No doubt I wouldn’t be here without you. My grandma “pastry chef” no telling how many cakes, cobblers, and fried pies you made for the cafe. My first big story in the paper was because of your chocolate cobbler. Daddy thank you for helping me get bbq grills, signs, and being there to listen to me gripe about owning my own business and always coming through with the best advice. Thank you to my wife Lacey who for years had to listen to me talk about expansion and then the next day me tell her we should just run a place with me and her. It’s a roller coaster. God has a plan for me and I’m finally ready to submit to his will. My identity was never found in a dish or a cafe. My identity has been written in an eternal book that is not on this earth.
Thanks,
Tyler Clancy
