After more than 50 years of service to our wonderful customers, it is time for Larry’s 9th & Union V&S to hang up the apron as the current owner Larry Spayd II heads into retirement. The last official day will be Thursday 08/24/2023. We hope to see you all one more time before then!

Larry Spayd I purchased the sandwich shop in 1971 from the father of the original owner Samual, Mollica Jr. In doing so, Larry bought the rights to the entire business, which means the shop is not a V&S Sandwich franchise. Larry Spayd I had added the name Larry to V&S and it was later LLC’d as just V&S. Before becoming a sandwich shop the store was Epler’s fish market.

The Legacy continued under new management of the Spayd family. Larry II, Larry I’s oldest son along with his business partner Stefanie Carney, took over and expanded the business with growing times to be able to better fulfill the customer's wishes while keeping true to the original recipes and quality that Larry’s V&S was known for, separating them from the chain.

The Spayd Family is proud to have served the Reading area for over 50 years. We Thank You All, our loyal followers for our success! We wouldn’t be here without your support!

We wish the next owners of this location under a new business name the same success in their future endeavors.
