🌶️🔥 Turn Up the Heat — the 30th Annual Chile Pepper Festival is Here! 🔥🌶️
One of Berks County’s spiciest traditions returns today and tomorrow, September 11 & 12, as the Chile Pepper Festival celebrates its 30th year at William DeLong Memorial Park in Bowers, PA. The festival runs 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days, rain or shine, with a suggested $4 admission donation.
For three decades, Bowers has become a destination for chile lovers looking for everything from hot sauces and salsas to spices, peppers, jerky, mustards, sweets and other foods with a little—or a lot—of heat. This year's vendor list is packed with returning favorites and new vendors from around the region.
🎶 There will also be live music, including the Chile Pepper Ramblers, throughout the festival. And on Saturday at 1 p.m., things really heat up with the Jalapeño Eating Contest. Contestants can register at the stage beginning at noon, with official prizes of $300 for first place, $200 for second and $100 for third, plus trophies.
Whether you're a serious chilehead searching for something painfully hot or just looking for a fun Berks County tradition, the Chile Pepper Festival has plenty to sample, eat and take home.
