Today, our Mike’s family pauses to honor and remember a true friend — Officer Robbie Folk.

Part of being a neighborhood sandwich shop is the connection that we make with our customers. We’re not sure when you actually make it from a customer to a friend, but it happens often here at Mike’s. These friendships are forged over many meals that you allow us to serve you.

A little over a year ago, we lost one of these friends far too soon.

Robbie wasn’t just a customer. He was part of the fabric of our shop. He had a favorite seat, a familiar order, and a smile and a laugh that filled the room. Whether he was stopping in during a shift or coming by on his day off, he always brought warmth, humor, and that unmistakable presence that made you feel better just seeing him walk through the door.

His tragic passing left a hole not only in his family and the department he proudly served, but here at Mike’s as well. Some people don’t realize how deep these neighborhood connections go — but we do. We feel them every single day.

Today, we permanently dedicate Robbie’s favorite seat in our sandwich shop in his honor. It will remain his spot — a quiet reminder of friendship, service, sacrifice, and the bond between a local officer and his community.

To Robbie’s family, friends, and brothers and sisters in blue — we continue to hold you in our hearts. Thank you for sharing him with our community.

Robbie, your seat is saved. Always. ❤️
