A mysterious criminal known only as “The Bat” stalks the halls of a secluded mansion as its nervous occupants search for answers, hidden money and the identity of the masked intruder. A wonderfully spooky old-house mystery perfect for a fall afternoon. Admission is free!

One night. And a very different kind of evening at Coffee & the Cats and The Emporium.

This isn’t a typical café event. It’s a celebration of the strange, creative and wonderful community we’ve built together, and we are expecting that it is going to sell out.

Join us Friday, September 11 for Autumn After Dark—an evening of live music, comedy, spooky storytelling, burlesque, food, mocktails and a few surprises we’re keeping secret until the lights go down.

Your evening includes appetizers and a welcome drink before the show, live entertainment throughout the night, plus cheesecake paired with our featured autumn mocktail at intermission.

Featuring Laura Savage, Brady Deschamp, Andrew Spiess, Victoria Garland, Cantio Flutes and Miss Eve Elway.

And if the word burlesque makes you hesitate—don’t. Miss Eve Elway’s performance will be theatrical, playful and tastefully done, perfectly suited to the elegant, slightly mischievous spirit of the evening.

September 6, 2026 update! 225 kitties have now been adopted from Coffee and the Cats! We are so thrilled that Jagger, Chai and Truffle all got to go home together! Now we have Darcy, Chalice, Caspian and Scarecrow Jones chilling in the Kitty Cove! We are open seven days a week and yes, we will be open on Labor Day! Humane Society of the Black Hills
