Today marks six years since the Cary family lost Paul and Sue’s son, and Laura’s brother, Ian Cary (1/5/88 – 6/15/20).

Today, we remember his larger-than-life personality, unbelievably big heart, humor, bravery, love of family, talent, art, music, wit, sarcasm, passion, and charisma—all the qualities we miss so dearly.

We have made our family motto, “Always Be Humble and Kind,” a phrase and song he loved and lived by. The grief never goes away; we simply grow around it.

The Black Pearl has been a journey of perseverance, healing, and hope for our family. We know he’s looking down on the life we’ve built—smiling, laughing, and cheering us on every step of the way.

We miss you something fierce, Ian. ❤️
