We have been busy the last two weeks! A huge thank you to all of our customers! We appreciate you and your business!

We love the ‘ber months! They bring back all the “good for the soul” foods!

This month’s freezer take and bake menu item was the pot pie. We offered them in both chicken and beef! And nothing goes better with a pot pie than a warm apple cobbler so we whipped up a few of those as well!

Stay tuned! In the next couple of weeks we will post our November freezer take and bake!

Hey! It's Courtney, the MBG, here! I realize it has been a hot minute since I have been active on this page.

The past 8 years have been full of all things "Samantha" in my world! We have traveled the nation showing cattle, met so many awesome people, learned new things and just wrapped up her Senior year at Caney Valley High School last night. Look out Oklahoma State University, she's coming in hot!

With this chapter closed, I am excited to venture back into the catering world. I have fine tuned some recipes the past eight years and learned to be rather creative in a cattle barn with a crockpot and what not and served a few crowds here in there.

If you have any events coming up, large or small, I would love an opportunity to be a part of your big day! Please feel free to text me at 405-834-6565 or shoot me a message on here! I live in the 918 area (my cell phone has been the only constant in my life since 1994, lol) but can and will travel!

PS: I just had to share a couple of pictures of my girl and her graduation from last night!

I popped down to Oklahoma Heritage Farm today for some homegrown goodies!

Tonight I decided to try air fryer okra and squash and made an Alabama White Sauce.

1. I need a larger air fryer.
2. This Alabama White Sauce runs neck in neck with Remoulade a Louisiana sauce I fell in love with when I lived there.

Chop your okra and squash the same size so you can cook it all together at the same time. Set aside.

Preheat your air fryer to 385 degrees.

In a bowl make an egg wash- 1 egg to 2 Tbsp water. Mix

In a different bowl mix equal parts cornmeal and flour. I used about a cup total because it was just for myself. Add a pinch of salt (buy the good stuff, it’s so much better for you), cracked black pepper, garlic powder and paprika. Mix.

I used a slotted serving spoon and dipped the veggies in the egg wash then flour.

Spray your air fryer with nonstick spray. I prefer olive oil, but you do you!

Place a batch of coated veggies on the fryer. Don’t overfill. Cook for 7 minutes. Lightly spray with oil again. Fry for 7 more minutes or until done.

*Air fryers all fry at different temperatures so check that first batch often.*

Alabama White Sauce-

This recipe is enough to last a few days. Oh who am I kidding. It’ll last through the evening news.

1 cup real Mayo
3 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
Dash of Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp each- garlic powder, paprika, black pepper
Dash of salt
Dash of hot sauce (if you have it)

Mix and chill.

This sounds like a lot of steps for some veggies and dip but the prep time was maybe 15 minutes.

I completed the meal with fresh from the garden cherry tomatoes and a glass of whole milk.

Enjoy!

It’s been a minute or several since I’ve posted on here!

I’m still cooking and still trying all types of new things. My latest favorite thing are these all natural (and mostly organically grown) simmer pot kits.

They are beautiful and smell amazing. This month’s scent is “Spring Thyme” and contains just the right balance of dill, ginger, coriander, thyme, lavender and lemon.

These are the perfect Easter basket filler, gift for yourself or lagniappe for your favorite customers.

I’m taking orders through March 30th and each little sachet is $5. Shipping is on me!

We are having a Souper Sunday! Whipped up some sausage and corn chowder on this cloudy and cool day.

1 lb breakfast sausage (I am partial to Blue & Gold)
2 carrots- peeled and diced
2 stalks celery- diced
1 small white onion- minced
2 cloves minced garlic
3 cups frozen corn
4 cups frozen hash browns
8 cups chicken stock
2 Tbsp. butter
1 c. heavy cream
Salt & Pepper to taste

In a large pot, brown onion and sausage until 3/4 done. Add garlic, carrots and celery and sauté an additional 5 minutes. Pour in chicken stock and add hash browns and corn. Bring to a boil and boil 3 minutes. Turn heat down to a simmer and simmer for 45 minutes, stir occasionally. Before serving add cream and allow to heat through.

I added shredded cheese and fresh cilantro to my bowl. Enjoy!
