First day outfits get planned for weeks - the shoes, the shirt, the just-right backpack that took three stores to find.

But the snack after pickup? That one's easy, and it's the part nobody has to think twice about. Same colorful bowl, same stuff that's been keeping people going for a very long time, now fueling a whole new school year of early mornings and late buses.

You know the drill - pickup line, backpacks flying, someone's already asking what's for snack before they've even buckled their seatbelt.

It's not really a conversation so much as a negotiation, and everybody's hungry and a little cranky by 3:15. A bowl in hand solves that faster than any back-and-forth ever could. Cold, sweet, and gone before you hit the second light, leaving you with a quiet car and a few minutes of peace before homework starts.

The alarm's earlier, the backpacks are new and somehow everyone still needs breakfast in under ten minutes flat.

Between finding the missing shoe and signing the form that was due yesterday, there's not a lot of room left for a real sit-down meal.
