Blount Street, MOFU Shoppe brings the flavors of Asia to downtown Raleigh, fittingly, in an old car dealership (hence the unique garage doors). The dishes are inspired by the foods commonly eaten in several Asian countries and represent our identity in a unique way. We like refer to our approach to food and our identity as nature (Asian Americans) and nurture (who grew up in the South around lots of diverse ethnic food).

What a sweet send-off Raleigh has given us. Thank you again for giving us this month to do what we do best. Thank you, Sunny, Sophia, and Matt, for allowing me to be a part of this place.

Mofu has always been driven by the creative and passionate folks who have graced these comforting walls. We wanted to carry forward the energy that (formerly Dump Pho King Truck) gave us, while creating a space for this community to gather. We all came from different backgrounds and experiences.

Eight years, y’all.

While there are many emotions words cannot fully capture, I am profoundly moved by the love that has been shared within this place. To the people who have been part of our team from 2017 to now~you have all made an impact. This industry breeds the most wonderful, hardworking, graceful people ~ those who, with grit and heart, find their rhythm and create experiences that last a lifetime.

To my team - y’all have made every moment worth it. I am a better person and manager because of every one of you I’ve had the privilege to lead. You taught me the importance of grace and understanding. You showed me that giving up was never an option, but that rest and care always are. You pushed me to become the type of leader I never imagined I could be. The deep love and bond I found here at Mofu Shoppe is something I will carry with me forever.

To our guests - I never imagined we would be so embraced by a community of food lovers. We just wanted to make food that was fun and memorable. We wanted to gather and enjoy each other’s company. This was more than a restaurant ~ you made it an experience. Thank you for letting us serve you.

To our friends in the industry-nurture each other. Support each other. Keep making Raleigh’s food and beverage scene shine. There are incredible people here, working, opening and sustaining amazing places. Be good to one another : because this work is hard. Be vulnerable, be generous, be honest. Give the best you’ve got. We’re all here cheering you on.

Sophia will tell you that I was her ‘yes’ person. The truth is, it’s easy saying yes when you don’t understand the weight of those yeses. The yeses turned to jobs, a place for celebrations, a place that feels like home. For some, all 8 years. Even though I was the one that said yes, Darany was the one that kept the ship charging forward. D, thank you for your strong and kind heart. The Mofu we know today is truly a reflection of you - beautiful, thoughtful and unique. I love you.

To the OG team, I made some good decisions, some decisions I wish I could go back and change. Thank you for always showing me grace. To the team that has come and gone ever since, thank you for giving us your sweat and care.

To the service industry, this s**t is hard. Yall are some strong Mofu-ers.

To our community that lifted us. You raised me into the employee and mother I am today. I’m in your debt. What a privilege it was for me to be a part of your experience.

Last but not least, Matt, your leadership gave us a chance to say a proper goodbye. Thank you friend. I'm glad we got to do this together

We've come a long way and so thankful for this journey.
Next up is a Final Recipe Love Letter Book, t-shirts, and if other local kitchens will allow us-- dumpling take overs.

While the space will remain and will be scooped up by the next wide eyed dreamers, what we have created at Mofu Shoppe will remain in our hearts and taste buds.

Final service tonight. Stop by. No resos? Come drink at the bar with us, snag whatever dumplings we have left, laugh, cry, hug, write us a note. We will sincerely miss you all, thank you for this wonderfully beautiful, messy, chaotic run.

Dear our Beloved Mofu Shoppe,

You are the building 321 S Blount.
You are our guest.
You are the staff that gave us life.
You are the leaders that carried the souls & brand.

After 8 beautifully chaotic years, it's time for us to say goodbye. Our last day will be August 30th.
Please conitue to follow after this post for updates.

What started as a food truck grew into something so much more than we imagined. All due to the community around us & most importantly the folks we have had as part of our team. Everyone who has stepped into these walls has left a significant impact on what we have created. We were lifted by the hospitality industry that raised us and the misfits who made every night worth showing up for.

To our guest, THANK YOU. Thank you for always encouraging us. Thank you for letting us be a part of your story. From a quick bite with old friends, to celebrating engagements, we appreciate every moment you shared with us.

We'll continue to operate and give you the best of what we've got. We'll bring back old favorites, some late night bites, enjoy everyone's positive company, and more than likely throw a grand Goodbye. We hope that you will join us this month to give thanks to this place, this staff, and celebrate 8 years of food and drink.

Though we are closing our doors, the memories will linger long after.
