Due to incoming severe weather, potential heavy rainfall, and flash flooding risks, Mayor Raymond A. Giacobbe, the Rahway City Council, and the Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC) regret to announce the postponement of tonight’s DJ Drewski Birthday Block Party performance. While tonight’s show was highly anticipated, our top priority is public safety. Postponing this event ensures emergency personnel and city resources remain fully available where needed most.
Although our rain policy typically moves outdoor Mayor’s Concert Series events into UCPAC’s Main Stage, the anticipated turnout for tonight’s free show significantly exceeds the theater’s maximum seating capacity. To ensure safety and avoid turning community members away at the door, the decision was made to postpone the concert rather than operate at a restricted indoor capacity.
We look forward to celebrating DJ Drewski’s birthday belatedly very soon! The rescheduled date will be announced in the coming days.
With flash flooding and heavy rain forecasted throughout the area, residents are strongly urged to exercise caution and stay safe indoors this evening.
