👀 Queen Creek is watching. Now we want to hear from you.

QueenFormer Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb is back in the spotlight as he seeks to represent Queen Creek and much of the Southeast Valley in Congress.

In recent months, Lamb has faced allegations involving inappropriate relationships, sexually explicit messages and photos, threats or intimidation toward women who spoke publicly about those relationships, and racist or homophobic communications. Lamb and his representatives have denied or disputed many of the allegations, calling them false and politically motivated.

Supporters say Lamb’s record on law enforcement, border security, and constitutional rights should be the focus. Critics argue the allegations raise serious questions about character, judgment, and fitness for office.

As voters, we’re often asked to weigh both a candidate’s policies and personal conduct. The question is: how much should each matter?

Queen Creek residents, what do you think?

Do these allegations affect your opinion of Mark Lamb, or are a candidate’s policy positions and record in office more important when deciding your vote?

Please keep the discussion respectful and focused on the issues.

🚨 More than 5,000 residents just got some unexpected news.

Queen Creek leaders voted unanimously to remove a 1,500-home area from the town's future growth plan, saying annexation would be too costly.

Residents packed the meeting, hoping to keep the possibility of joining Queen Creek alive, but the council ultimately voted 7-0 to move forward.

💬 If you lived in this area, would you want to become part of Queen Creek or remain in Pinal County?

American Airlines confirmed that several domestic routes will not be served in August and September due to the current operating environment affecting all airlines, fueled by the war in Iran.

American Airlines is temporarily suspending six routes as it adjusts its network and capacity plans due to high fuel costs. The airline said none of these routes are being suspended indefinitely.
Affected routes:
Los Angeles (LAX) → Cleveland
LAX → Columbus
LAX → Pittsburgh
LAX → Washington Dulles
Charlotte (CLT) → Ontario
CLT → Sacramento

Bigger Picture:
Airlines and travelers are facing rising costs because jet fuel prices have surged, driven by the Middle East conflict.
Domestic airfare is up about 19% year-over-year, with median round-trip fares increasing from $412 to $489.
The cheapest flight tickets have increased even more, with low-end fares up nearly 23%.

Industry Impact:
Spirit Airlines recently shut down after 34 years, citing rising fuel costs, heavy debt, financial struggles, and cash-flow issues.
Allegiant Air acquired Sun Country Airlines last month.
Major U.S. airlines, including American, Delta, United, Southwest, Alaska, and JetBlue, have raised checked baggage fees to offset higher operating costs.

Queen Creek Marketplace has begun enforcing restrictions on e-bikes and e-scooters on shopping center property.

The marketplace is privately owned and has the authority to establish rules for activities on-site. The move comes as Queen Creek continues to see increased concerns surrounding reckless e-bike use, juvenile disturbances, and pedestrian safety throughout the community.

Queen Creek Police have recently reported dozens of calls involving juvenile disturbances and reckless e-bike activity, prompting increased enforcement efforts and renewed conversations about safety and accountability.

What are your thoughts on the marketplace’s decision?

Good News for Homeowners? Queen Creek Moves to Lower Property Tax Rate!

This story reports that the town's primary property tax rate is expected to be lowered again as part of a multi-year property tax freeze approved by the town council. The proposal would reduce the rate from $1.63 to $1.55 per $100 of assessed property value while keeping the actual tax bill for a typical homeowner roughly unchanged because of rising property valuations.

Queen Creek residents of a home with a median assessed value of $265,000 will continue to pay property taxes of $434, as they have since the freeze started. Those residents will save $166 in the fifth year of the freeze and a total of $557 over all five years. Town officials say the freeze is intended to prevent property tax increases for residents over a five-year period.

💧 Queen Creek is making one of the biggest investments in its water future yet.

The Town has secured a $90 million state loan and purchased enough water from Harquahala Valley to significantly reduce its reliance on local groundwater. Officials say the combined water purchases make Queen Creek's water portfolio 90% drought-proof and help move the Town closer to water self-sufficiency.

At the same time, residents should know that the Town has spent years offsetting groundwater replenishment fees, saving customers nearly $72 million since 2018. Those subsidies won't last forever, and a new local water resource fee is expected to replace current CAGRD fees in the future.

What do you think about Queen Creek's long-term water strategy? Is this a smart investment for the future? 💬👇

Think your e-bike is legal?
Some popular bikes like Sur-Rons may now be treated as motor vehicles in Queen Creek — and police can impound them.

Queen Creek approved new emergency measures within the last few days, and they include a new 15 MPH speed limit for e-bikes and other motorized devices in certain areas.

The updated rules under Ordinance 890-26 became effective May 21, 2026, and apply to:
1) sidewalks
2) multi-use trails
3) bicycle lanes
4) parking lots

The 15 MPH limit applies even if there are no posted signs.
The ordinance also:
1) bans recreational riding of many motorized devices inside town parks
2) allows police to impound devices for dangerous riding
3) requires a safety course before release in some cases
4) prohibits holding a phone while riding unless hands-free

There’s also increased enforcement against higher-powered bikes like Sur-Rons and some “e-moto” style bikes that legally qualify as motor-driven cycles rather than standard e-bikes.
