Good Afternoon Swim Team Families,
Today, 5/26 is the start of our swim season. This email contains all the information you will need for the season.
Assessments - All Gators Attend
Our assessment is today from 6-7pm, where we will assess all of our swimmers so we can best instruct them over the summer. Everyone should attend this practice, even the little gators. Older swimmers will be asked to swim two laps, and little ones will swim across the shallow end of the pool. We will monitor weather, and will communicate via Telegram, Facebook and email if there are any changes.
Practices
Until school ends, we will practice in the evenings from 6-7pm on the below dates. These practices are for the older kids only.
5/27, 6/1, 6/2, 6/3, 6/5, 6/9, 6/11, 6/12
Once school ends, we will practice every weekday in the morning. Little gators will practice from 9-9:30am, and the older kids from 9:30-10:30am. For families attending Camp Odyssey, drop off your child in their bathing suit and let your camp counselor know on the first day that your child is participating in swim team, and they will bring them to practice and take them back when it's over.
Meet Schedule
Below is a list of our meets for the summer. Please let me know if you are unable to make any of these dates. We plan our relays around who is available, so we need this information ahead of time. Meets all start at 6pm. If we are the host team, then we start our warm-ups at 5:15pm and away meets our warm-ups are at 5:30pm unless otherwise instructed. We ask that everyone be there about 15 minutes early so we can make sure we are organized and ready to +go.

Champs
Swim championships are currently scheduled for Saturday, July 25, 2026. We'll provide more details as we get closer and see which swimmers qualify during the season. If you are interested, qualifying times can be found on the Delmarva Swim Association website. They have recently updated the times for all female age groups and some of the male age groups.

Below is a link to the team store where you can purchase our team bathing suits, which are required for meets. We've also picked out a fun swim cap, which is optional to purchase.
Green Hill Country Club Gators Team Store
Payments
Checks can be made out to Green Hill Country Club. You can also make credit card payments with Donna Thompson at the Green Hill office. Fees are $150 per child for members and $200 for non-members. Members can also have the fees added to their account. Once you have paid your swimmer will receive their team shirt. Donna's email is [email protected] if you need to reach out to her.
