Happy Souper Wednesday, Pulaski!

When we first had the idea to move from the bus into the building, I wondered how we would transfer the “experience“ into the building. Now that we’re IN the building, I can see where some of that experience has just naturally transferred over — lots of natural light from the front windows, the gray color scheme, with metal and wood elements — very reminiscent of the bus, but with a lot more personality. With outdoor seating coming in the future, we are very happy with where we’ve landed and with where we’re headed.
BUT, none of that would matter if you weren’t there. The BIGGEST question we had was whether or not you would follow us from our food bus in a gravel lot to a building on the other side of the square. The answer has been a resounding YES! Not only that, but you are bringing people with you — friends, family, coworkers — new people who have never tried gēk’s before. And THIS has been the most exciting part for me — seeing you conversing, laughing, sharing a milkshake, all while enjoying the food and the space that we’ve put together for you.
Behind the scenes, we will continue making little refinements to consistently enhance your experience, both with the food and the space — some you won’t even notice, and some you may NOTICE, but not think twice about. One such example is the “acoustic clouds“ that I installed this past weekend. You may or may not even notice them. They fit into the space quite well, and add a nice little flourish to the aesthetic; but they ALSO serve the purpose of making the dining area just a little calmer, your conversations just a little more effortless, and your time spent dining with us just a little more peaceful.

This week, the Summer Garden returns! 🍇🥗

Years ago, my sister Darie created what is still one of my favorite chicken salad recipes ever. When Bliss Farm Market & Cafe was around (in Lawrenceburg), there were a lot of people who felt the same way. 🤤
The Summer Garden is my attempt to capture those flavors in a gēk’s “Garden” — fresh greens, sprouts, grapes, feta, spliced almonds, and topped with our signature battered chicken tenders. The creamy Cinnaigrette dressing brings in the rest of the flavors, and ties it all together. If ever two things were made for each other, it’s these two. It’ll be available starting today! Come ‘n get you one! 😋
And don’t forget — you can now enjoy your fix in our new dining room. We’re still doing work to make it a cozy, stress-free spot to visit for lunch and dinner. So drop by, sit down, relax for a few minutes, and enjoy your Summer Garden in the new space we’ve built JUST FOR YOU. ♥️

I mentioned it in yesterday’s post, but thought I would make a dedicated post, to make sure everyone sees.
I’m considering doing a run of gēk’s t-shirts. I don’t really see us becoming merch-heavy at any point in the near future, but thought I’d just see what kind of interest there is. IF there’s enough interest, it’ll be a limited run, and it would be a pre-order situation. Design? You’ll have to trust us on that one, but it WILL definitely identify you as a “gēk’s frēk” (sounds like “geek’s freak” 🤓), so consider yourself warned. 😅 It will be a clean design, with a modern fit, 100% cotton, and probably somewhat minimalist, not unlike our new staff t-shirts (pictured). In fact, it would probably be MORE like our staff t-shirts than not. Pricing? $25-30.

It’s FryDay, and what a GORGEOUS Friday morning it’s been! I feel like I’m always misremembering, but I just don’t remember nice cool mornings being a thing this far into June.🤷🏼‍♂️
Today is the last day of the week to get your gēk’s fix! Finish your week off strong with our signature battered chicken tenders, house-made-from-scratch sides, salads and sauces.  It’s some of the only fried food I know of that doesn’t leave you feeling like poo 30 minutes later, lol. 😅
Today will also be the last day of 2026 for the Spring Garden. 🍓
One more thing before I get to work. I’ve been considering doing a limited release of gēk’s T-shirts. It would be a pre-order situation, and the shirts would be a modern fit, all cotton, with the “gēk’s ckichen” logo. They would be similar to our “staff“ T-shirts, but would DEFINITELY have to include something to identify you as a gēk’s frēk. Anyway, I just wanted to throw this out there to see if there’s any interest. The pricing would probably be somewhere in the $25-$30 range. Let us know in the comments! 😁
