TODAY IS SUNDAY 9/6. We have a LOT of bread to donate however our usual folks we donate to at FeedRI are not able to pickup today due to the holiday. Please come in and grab some of this bread for free. If you want it for yourself or want to help donate it somewhere. We need to make room and literally have zero place to store or freeze it. Come in today, ask at the counter and we will give it to you. Please. Thank you. Free. Free food. Free bread. Free. While supply lasts first come first served etc.

Way back in the year 1999 or 2000 I was in a band briefly called As The Sun Sets from the Providence area. One night we played at a small club downtown providence on a Sunday night called “Dimensions” or something similar and a band called Killswitch Engage played as well. Their singer J E S S E L E A C H was in a band called Corrin previously and they were a very special part of the local metal music scene and getting to play with the new project was a special moment in time. The band at the time had a drummer who was in another sick metalcore band called Aftershock who to this day I think are one of if not the most underrated and under appreciated metalcore bands from New England and finally the bass player was in one of my favorite bands called Overcast

This show was over 25 years ago. So much has happened. So many paths have crossed and lives have lead to multiple successes for everone in that room. One of the most wild things about music and punk / hardcore / DIY ethos is that it sticks with you forever. And when that small band called KILLSWITCH ENGAGE has now grown to a juggernaut in metal music and I established pvdeli 2 years ago I always keep those memories in mind when reaching out to people. When Killswitch was in Boston in June I reached out to Mike Mike D'Antonio on a whim just wanting to offer some food on us as a “thank you “ and in a way a “congrats” for going from a small band my band played with on a Sunday night in 1999 to becoming what they are today.
This afternoon Mike gifted me this awesome signed Killswitch poster with a very nice heartfelt note on it and some overcast stickers. The gesture hit way deeper than he knew but I wanted to share with the class as to just how deep and important music is in the journey of so many and especially us here at PVDeli. Thanks Mike, Jesse and the rest of KSE.
