Review of S.S. Dion Kitchen + Bar located at 520 Thames Street in Bristol, RI.
We ate dinner at the S.S. Dion Kitchen on Saturday, March 7, 2026. It's a waterfront restaurant with views of the harbor. The weather was foggy so, unfortunately, no harbor view. No worries though as we entered the restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised at the cozy and casual atmosphere and pleasant staff. We were seated at a table by a window. Our server was Sadie
To start, I ordered a watermelon margherita (no surprise) and Ernie had a bacon fat infused whiskey old fashion, both of which we were delicious.
For entrees, I ordered baked scrod and Ernie ordered the hot monk fish sando with a side order of herb-honey brussels sprouts. My fish was a 2" thick, perfectly cooked scrod and the fish sammich (sando) as delicious as were the brussels. In fact, I would say this was the best baked scrod I've every had!
The only thing I could say was that inside was a tad dark and just a bit noisy. This, however, would not deter us from visiting again.
A quick Google search describes S.S. Dion as "a waterfront American restaurant in Bristol, Rhode Island, known for it's fresh, local seafood, Yankee/Italian-inspired dishes." It boasts of harbor views and gluten-free and vegetarian options. The restaurant also offers seasonal outdoor seating. They also have a large wine list several dessert options which we did not partake.
The S.S. Dion is listed as women-owned and wheelchair accessible. They accept Amex, Discover, MasterCard and Visa. There is a small parking lot in front of the building and there is free street parking available.
