Harvest Kitchen is program of Farm Fresh RI. We are a local food cafe and culinary job training program for youth ages 16–20 involved with the RI Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF). Our trainees work to create value-added products using ingredients sourced from local farms. Sales from our cafe directly support our training program! Order take-out or enjoy our sunlit cafe space Monday-Friday, 10am-3pm in downtown Pawtucket!

Tomato season is in full swing at Harvest Kitchen! 🍅🍅

We have a new caprese sandwich on the menu, featuring Narragansett Creamery mozzarella, local tomatoes, balsamic glaze, and a house made pesto mayo.

But we've also been busy jarring green tomatoes for the African Alliance of Rhode Island! These beautiful tomatoes are jarred at the peak of the season so they can be sold and appreciated year round. They also offer a nice color contrast to the juicy, deep red ones we use in the cafe 💚🍅

Stop by to enjoy some fresh, local tomatoes today!

Flashback to Farm Fresh RI's Local Food Fest earlier this month, when the Harvest Kitchen team collaborated with Allen Farms to create a sweet pea custard on shortbread, garnished with a sweet pea crème anglaise and meringue crumbles.

It was a magical summer evening we won't soon forget!

Our chicken caesar wrap is quickly becoming a customer favorite at HK! 🥬🌯

We make them with chicken breasts covered in lemon-herb seasoning, local romaine, and parmesan cheese in a flour wrap.

☀️🥒 Zucchini season is here 🥒☀️

Our delicious zucchini tempura sandwich highlights the freshest produce this season. Crispy planks of fried zucchini, baby spinach, pickled onions, vegan pesto mayo, and a kalamata olive-artichoke tapenade make this a stellar sandwich to celebrate the summertime ☀️✨

But that's not the only item with zucchini on our menu: the cubano sandwich includes HK bread & butter zucchini pickles alongside our house pulled pork, smoked ham, swiss, and dijonnaise.

If you stop by HK for lunch this week, say hello to our trainees working behind the counter! During summertime, some trainees are able to come in during the day when the cafe is open and get experience taking and making orders for customers.

Are you ready for ?! is happening this week, with fantastic events all over including a Block Party on Sims Ave this Saturday, July 18.

Harvest Kitchen will be open for business from 11-3 that day, so if you're in the neighborhood, stop by to purchase one of our customer favorites, including burgers and chicken caesar wraps, and enjoy our light-filled cafe!

HK introduced a new salad last week: the protein bowl! With chickpeas and hardboiled egg served over a mix of spinach, arugula, cucumber, and tomato topped with tahini dressing, it's bound to be a favorite in your summer lunch rotation. ☀️☀️
