Q***r Bookclub is back after our Summer Break! The last Monday of the month we’ll be reading a collection of short stories titled “Fat Swim” by Emma Copley Eisenberg. Each short story’s q***r, fat & trans representation offers readers a seasonal place to swim through our inherent interconnectedness, joy, and relational complexities. This read is sexy, fiercely loving, and starkly honest. The author offers this raw, radical read as a book about “the space between the real self and the self the world and the internet reduces us to, particularly for women, fat people, and q***r people. But it is also for anyone who has ever been confused about the great mystery that is being a human being with a body.“

Q***r Bookclub is free and there is no need to sign up, just bring yourself! We’ll have drinks, and snacks available for purchase. Use your library card at or buy your book from your favorite local bookstore like or

Open art show call now open! Submissions due by 8/3 at midnight. The erotic.

The erotic as a source of aliveness-—an aliveness that connects us to ourselves and each other.

This exhibition invites us to explore:

How q***rness shapes our erotic knowledge.

Forms of intimacy, care, desire, grief, joy, and connection that emerge outside of dominant frameworks.

Q***r and trans embodiments of pleasure, desire, and self-determination.

Erotic power as refusal, softness, rage, play, tenderness, and/or rest.

Non-normative intimacies, chosen family, and q***r relationally.

Practices that resist commodification and spectacle in favor of presence, sensation, and truth.

The erotic as a site of empowerment, intimacy, and self-definition.

Reclaiming joy, sensation, and connection as political and creative acts.

We are primarily looking for 2D visual art in mediums of painting, photography, fiber arts, poetry and all kinds of print based practices. We are accepting submissions that also include: installation, performance, video, sound, text-based work, experimental practices, and interdisciplinary approaches. We welcome both emerging and established artists. Eligibility: Open to artists of all backgrounds! QTBIPOC artists to the front.

Tomorrow! We’ll be hosting Worldwide (q***r) Knit in Public Day! Get to know the artists coming to join the International feminist craft-tivity with their accompanying song!

First up: Alys-Jade (they/them) ! A local q***r musician who explores themes of q***r pain and healing through their music. Although they have played music for most of their life, they are just starting to explore solo live performance and are excited to share their art!
**************
“RockyVerse” aka Rocky Lane he/him is a creative entrepreneur, community advocate, and current Small Format doula hailing originally from Austin Texas! Rocky has been releasing music and creative works with collaborators for over 25 years. He writes songs on relationships and community connection. One of his first and only solo performances was at the age of 19, the rest of his career has been focused on compositions for hire and band performances. He has cared for a small loyal audience of patrons and fans through authentic media creation and social impact storytelling. His style is a blend of folk, blues, rock, and southern gospel.
**************
And last but not least on the ukulele: Kim Johnson (she/they) also known as Psych Major! Psych Major is the project of quirky indie folk/pop/rock artist and music therapist, Kim Johnson (she/they). Layering vulnerable lyrics, evocative vocals, and atypical instrumentation, they explore aspects of psychology and existentialism, including the more taboo parts. She does so unapologetically in hope that this will cultivate validation, empathy, and a sense of shared humanity for anyone who happens to be listening. Previously, Kim released a full length album under the name KJ Johnson as well as an EP and series of music videos with experimental folk duo, Goat & Lion.
In short, if Iggy Pop and Mr. Rogers had a baby, it would sound like this.
