Hi! We’re doing something different today this Friday and opening from 5-8 PM as a ✨ wine bar 🍷 to host mayoral candidate for a meet and greet.

This is NOT a fundraiser. Just come and ask some tough questions, put him thru the paces, learn about his vision for the city and most importantly: drink some bangin’ vino with us.

Our newsletter to the Friends of the House included my unfiltered thoughts on why we decided to host this event when we’ve previously declined to host political candidates in our space. Swipe to read, and send us a note if you’re coming so we can get a rough headcount (some snacks will be provided!)

Hi! Two updates:

We have a fun pastry special this weekend: lemon meringue tart. No twist, just well done. (Well, the crust has a touch of herbs!)

is coming next Friday 3/20 for a Q&A! We will serve wine by the glass. It’s an excellent opportunity to try one of our more esoteric bottles — we will open anything if you get two glasses!

But also, it’s a good chance to meet a mayoral candidate and press him on the issues you care about. The current mayor won the primary (and de facto his seat) with just 8,653 votes in all of Providence. So each one of our votes really counts! Come participate in democracy before it is taken away from us 🤹‍♀️

Everyone else has said it way better than I can. In the current economic state, it’s a bitter pill to swallow to close for the day and not earn what we need to cover rent, utilities, food costs and most importantly, wages for our team.

We stand in solidarity; those who know us, know that we do not stand for the tyranny of a government who terrorizes the immigrants who literally feed American society, from the farmlands to the restaurant tables. The hypocrisy is disgusting. As a colonial subject born and raised in Puerto Rico, my loyalty is not with the empire.

We will be here today, come see us if you’re in the mood for a good Puerto Rican coffee and breakfast prepared with love by Chef Luis, and pay in cash if you can. If you’re a regular with us and feeling the financial squeeze, send me a message and we’ll welcome you for a complimentary meal in exchange for your good vibes.

Stay strong — this is going to be a long battle ❤️‍🩹🇵🇷

Hey hey hey! Vámonos pa’ España! 🇪🇸 💃 🍷

ICYMI we are planning a trip to Southern Spain this May and we have a few spots left to fill up! We are looking for adventurous travelers who are curious about food, wine and culture. This region really seduced us when we visited last year and we can’t wait to return!

Our group trips are a little different than the organized chef-led tours we’ve seen on offer. We travel as a small group in two cars, so we’re not limited to tour-bus-friendly experiences only. We arrange all meals and activities so you’re not left to plan half of the trip somewhere you don’t know after paying thousands for an organized experience. And we secure visits to wineries we’ve visited and loved that are not always open to the public, so that you can experience something truly unique and memorable.

We will post a link in our stories if you’re interested in learning more.

New year, new cocktail menu! BIG upgrade to our drink selection by our friend 😍

All our cocktails are wine and sherry based so they are naturally low ABV and perfect for brunch — just a little buzz! 🥂

Coquito! A Christmas staple in Puerto Rico, everyone’s got their own twist on it. Recipes are fiercely held close to the vest and for good reason.

Well, I got my own spin: Lighter in texture, super nutty and spicy but not too sweet. It’s already lightly boozy, so you can enjoy as-is or strengthen it a touch more. We like ours with Amontillado sherry, a curious pairing that connects Puerto Rico back to the port of origin for the last five hundred years of history.

Available at the restaurant as a boozy coquito latte or take it home in a bottle (inquire at the restaurant, bottled to order).

A little PSA from your favorite tiny-but-mighty gem of a brunch spot 💛

This Sunday we had to turn away 29 walk-ins during the 10–12 rush 😩 We only have six tables (we told you we were tiny!) and when everyone shows up at once, there’s literally nowhere to squeeze another seat to serve you our awesome Mofongo Benedicts.

If you’re planning to join us, pretty please make a reservation ahead—especially if you want that mid-morning sweet spot. We usually have plenty of room at 9am and after 1pm, and those early or late tables make everyone’s day smoother—yours, ours, and our poor host’s 😅

Just one favor: please only reserve if you’re sure you can make it! No-shows hurt our small team more than you’d think and we hold our cancellation policy strictly to make room for as many guests as possible.

And before anyone says “just get a bigger space”—trust us, we’d love to! But for now, it’s just our 24 seats in q cozy little room, a lot of heart, and an incredibly team that somehow makes it all work 💖

We appreciate your support!

📅 Reserve via the link in bio—we can’t wait to feed you.
