Today, America celebrates 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence—a moment that forever changed the course of history. Across our nation, from the historic streets of Philadelphia to the quiet communities nestled in the Appalachian Mountains, we pause to reflect on the remarkable journey that has brought us here. America’s story has never belonged only to presidents, generals, or famous statesmen. It also belongs to the farmers who worked the land, the coal miners who powered a nation, the soldiers who defended liberty, the immigrants who sought a better life, and the families whose hard work and determination built the communities we call home.
For 250 years, the American story has been one of courage, sacrifice, perseverance, and hope. It has endured war, division, hardship, and uncertainty, yet each generation has left its own mark on the nation. Our history lives in weathered courthouses, battlefields, churches, cemeteries, factories, coal camps, small towns, and family traditions.
