PADUCAH - A pair of Princeton entrepreneurs are coming to Paducah this summer, but they are hoping that they don't have a run-in with Bigfoot.

Cale Sears and papaw, Ellis Meadows, started Cale's Sweet Treats recently in their hometown of Princeton. Business is booming so much that they are expanding to other cities, including Paducah for a special event at Ratcliffe Park this summer.

"Papaw and I have seen in the news recently that there have been a lot of Sasquatch sightings in McCracken County," says Sears. "Nobody can resist our tasty treats, not even Bigfoot himself, so we're worried about him showing up while we're in town!"

Papaw Ellis agrees, while adjusting his candy dust-dusted suspenders. "I'm not afraid of anything," he says. "Back when I was younger I used to wrestle bears, alligators, giraffes - you name it. But I'm older now and I don't know if I can handle a Sasquatch. They have super human strength!"

Sears says that no matter what happens, he and his papaw will come to Ratcliffe Park this summer. "People all over Kentucky love our sugary snacks, so it will be an honor sharing our delicious treats with the folks in Paducah."

So, Paducah, brace yourselves: this summer, Ratcliffe Park might see a colossal clash of sugar and Sasquatch. Let's just hope Bigfoot has a sweet tooth!

PADUCAH - Old Glory may wave triumphant over the land of the free, but in the manicured lawns of the Pleasant Meadows subdivision, patriotism is facing a green-walled enemy: the Homeowners Association.

Brian Carpenter, 27, of Paducah, found himself entangled in a bureaucratic battle when his beloved American flag was deemed "visually disruptive" by the HOA. Undeterred, Carpenter bought several hundred cans of red, white, and blue paint and transformed his lawn into the American flag.

Naturally, the HOA went ballistic. Legal threats followed, claiming that the McCracken County homeowner violated the "aesthetic unity" of the neighborhood. But Carpenter, his resolve as firm as a freshly-mowed manicured blade, retorted, "They can take my paintbrush, but they can't take my freedom! This here yard ain't just grass, it's a canvas for the American spirit!"

The showdown between Carpenter and the HOA has become the talk of the town, turning Pleasant Meadows into a battleground for freedom. His neighbors are cheering Carpenter on, waving miniature flags from their porches as a sign of solidarity.

"It's my yard, so I'll do what I want to do," said Carpenter, while rolling a red stripe of paint across his lawn. "And there's nothing they can do to stop me."
