🌱LOCALLY SOURCED SPOTLIGHT🌱

This summer, Rustic Roots has naturally grown into more boutique, full-service catering ...with thoughtful menus, elevated presentation, and food that reflects where we live.

This winter, we’re excited to slow down a little and refine that vision even more: our food offerings, website, and especially our connections with the producers, growers, and small businesses of the Northern Midwest.

So, we’re starting a Locally Sourced Spotlight! — to help us reflect on all this summer has given us. And our first one is the first for a reason :)

Hillstar Farm has been supplying us with beautiful greens since our food truck days. Their products are dependable, incredibly consistent, and fresh ... and they’ve somehow always come through for our random, last-minute, and occasionally very large lettuce orders. 😅

During the lettuce scare this summer, we didn’t have to skip a beat. We knew exactly where our greens were coming from: aquaponically and family grown right in Tomahawk, Wisconsin.

August is Foraging Month at NorthLakelandDiscoveryCenter !

Join us for an immersive and delicious dining experience inspired by the beauty and abundance of the Northwoods.

We've been foraging, preserving, testing recipes, and crafting a multi-course menu featuring locally sourced ingredients (full menu attached)!

Throughout the evening, Naturalists Licia and Jenna will guide guests through the meal, sharing insights into ethical foraging, local ecosystems, and processing tips for the foods growing all around us.

Our little catering company has developed a side hustle... and we love that it gives us another way to support local Wisconsin businesses and producers.

Tonight we gave a box to , the new owners of our former TipUps food truck. The trailer got a MAJOR facelift, and we couldn't be happier to see it thriving in its next chapter. Their food is incredible - thoughtfully sourced ingredients, a.m.a.z.i.n.g crust, and a menu that honors the rich history of pasties while drawing inspiration from similar traditions around the world.
