The Raven Café is a European style green cafe located in historic downtown Prescott, Arizona. We feature a full, all-organic espresso bar and a wide variety of craft beers and wines. Our innovative menu is created with organic ingredients, many from local sources. We feature rotating art shows by local and regional visual artists, the best in underground acoustic and local music, and collaborative

events with local conservation organizations. The Raven Cafe is toxin free, using only Dr. Bronner's soap, Seventh Generation and Citrasolv cleaners, iodine sanitizer instead of bleach, and Biokleen surfactant. Most of our paper products are recycled (even the toilet paper), and our plastic cups are made from corn. In other words, we try to make every aspect of our business earth-friendly, from the ground up. We are dedicated to this community and will continue to accept our part as an environmentally conscious establishment. We will always provide the best quality organic foods, small production wines, and craft beers in a positive, relaxed and friendly setting. Come sample our menu while enjoying fresh air dining on our rooftop patio.

communities nationwide.

Candlewick Press and the American Booksellers
Association are again teaming up with 325 independent bookstores nationwide, including for some hide-and-seek fun designed to encourage residents to patronize their local businesses. There is no charge to participate, and the hunt lasts for the entire month of July.

Families love joining the scavenger hunt to find the iconic children’s book character, with his

This week’s movie: The Blob- a film that illustrates how before horror got slick, it got very very weird.

Starring a really young Steve McQueen (yeah, that actor who played *the* Junior Bonner is in this one too), this 1958 sci-fi cult classic follows a small town under attack by a mysterious gelatinous organism from outer space that grows larger every time it eats someone. Which, unfortunately, it does, like, a lot.

Equal parts kitschy drive-in-style paranoia, Cold War anxiety, and gloriously practical effects, The Blob became one of the defining creature features of the late ’50s. It undeniable proof that sometimes the scariest monster is just…giant space Jell-O with a big appetite.

Is it campy? Absolutely.
Is it also iconic? Also absolutely.
