A Tribute to Dolly Patron
January 19, 1946 - Aug. 25, 2026
-I've read so many positive & uplifting comments about Dolly Parton today: from her humble upbringing, her early talents of singing & song writing turned into a career, her climbing to fame & realizing her dreams, staying down to earth while never forgetting where she came from, acting, mentoring young & new musicians/entertainers, starting Dollys Imagination Library (global) -children's books from birth to age five, opening Dollywood & various other entertainment venues, promoting Sevierville & Sevier County Tennessee/ The Great Smoky Mountains, making large donations to hospitals, helping & donating millions after the 2016 forest fires in the Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge TN areas, her philanthropy in general, and her FAITH in Jesus.
Of the comments... The Carter Family Fold, top country music stars from past and present, actors & actresses, Governors, Senators, Congressional reps, & The President. The list is endless.
Not one negative comment.
I'll say this...Dolly Parton was bigger in life than Elvis or any entertainer of this century. She has given more of herself, done more for careers and for people. She loved people and never met a stranger. She used her fame for good and never got lost or pulled down into the destruction of drugs, alcohol, or broken marriages.
Dollys reps made a statement late this evening that she was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer, admitted Friday Aug. 21 to Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Hospital in Nashville TN and died today Aug. 25, 2026 after a brief battle with cancer.
It was her time to receive her Heavenly reward, meet her Lord and Savior, and reunite with her beloved husband Carl Dean, parents, and many loved ones.
Thank you Dolly! You set the bar high, and its time to pass the torch. The world will always remember you for being you.
What a legacy you have left on this world.
