Yesterday we were reminded just how much the smallest gestures can mean. ❤️

A longtime customer of ours recently passed away after battling cancer. His name was Jeff but we always called him “Batman” because he was the biggest Batman fan we’ve ever met. Yesterday his nephew came into the diner and brought us something we never expected—a takeout box I had written a little message on for him six years ago during Covid.

He had saved it. And in true hippie fashion, he had actually hung that takeout box on his wall all these years. ✌️☮️🍃

You never know what someone is going through or how a few kind words might stay with them. We often have no idea how much a simple act of kindness can mean to someone—or how long they may carry it with them.

Be kind. Write the note. Say the nice thing. Take the extra minute.

Sometimes the smallest gestures really do leave the biggest mark. ❤️

Rest in peace, Jeff. You will be deeply missed. We hope you find that Heaven makes homemade English Muffin Toast and chili just as delicious as we do, buddy. Rest easy.
