Just letting you guys know we will be closed this week and next week.
As many of you know Madelyn and Abi are sisters. Me and Aliyah are brother and sister. We are the rare example of a family business that somehow gets along and doesn’t want to hurt each other. We are always having a great time.
There is nothing like family. It’s what keeps the world going. A lot of you know me and Aliyah’s dad has been fighting cancer. He actually beat cancer twice! With doing so other issues arise and we are saying this with so much pain, but he has passed away.
We have people that come into our lives and the hardest part of losing someone that strong is knowing they spent their life making sure everyone else would be okay. They didn’t realize it but they became a bridge that stood tall and strong, as everyone else would cross.
Being from Belgrade, in the summers we would all go to Palmer and go to the “The Iron Bridge”. It’s where you learned to swim, and where you taught us kids to swim.
You were the fastest swimmer I’d ever seen. Even as I got older and stronger, you would still beat me. Then laugh in my face and hold it over me how much faster you were.
We would hunt crawdads. That spot was always loaded with them. Even as an adult, every time I see a crawdad I think of that place, and mom with her silly kitchen fork to catch them.
We would all jump off that rock, it’s barely above the water line. When you are little it feels 15 feet high. But assured you were there and nothing would happen. Same rock you taught us to dive and do flips on. That spot holds so many memories for our family.
Since then, they’ve torn down that old iron bridge. You and that bridge may both be gone, but neither of you will ever really be forgotten. That bridge carried us across the water, and you carried us through life.
And just like that old bridge, you left behind something that will always remain—the memories, the lessons, and the people you helped along the way.
We love you so much dad.
P.S. We love you more.
