After an amazing 24 years of selling hot dogs, Ray’s Doghouse will be closing it’s doors as of today December 24, 2021 at 3:00 PM. Now in their 80’s, Ray and Cindy have decided (FINALLY) to retire! They are very grateful to their customers, friends and staff for making their lives richer every single day! Ray’s Doghouse has been so much more than a place of business to the Carson’s and they have truly loved the experience of owning a hot dog shop in Portsmouth, VA!

AND, with great excitement Ray and Cindy would like to announce the plan for their loyal staff members Troy Dozier, Tammy Murphy and Patrick Glickman to continue Ray’s Doghouse under new ownership! STAY TUNED for more details on when Ray’s will reopen!

Ray's Doghouse will be closed Wed. Nov. 24th in Memory of Mr. Jack Lofton! He was a very special part of our family and we will miss him dearly!

Ray's Doghouse will also be Closed Thursday, Friday, & Saturday for The Thanksgiving Holiday!

It is with a very heavy heart that we have to say good bye to our favorite "Fry Guy"! Mr. Jack Lofton passed away last night peacefully surrounded by his family! He will be missed by so many, because everyone who knew him loved him! Please keep his family in your prayers at this time.

We are sad that we will be loosing Tammy But we wish her the best in her new endeavors. This Saturday will be her last day with us full time, but she has promised us she will come in to help from time to time!
She will me missed!

Ray's Doghouse is a Portsmouth Icon, who has been serving it's community for 22 yrs come this October!
Over the past 21 years we have made some of the BEST friends and a "family" in which we Love, Appreciate, and Respect.
We have faced many hurdles (the biggest being Covid and a shut down)! And our dedicated and supportive customers are what got us through them all! We can never put into words how much we appreciate each and everyone of you!
We are currently facing the hardship of constant rising costs to operate. And we were faced with a very hard decision...
Ray's Doghouse will be introducing a new menu, with some add ons, and new prices. We would like to thank ALL of our customers for their continued support and we hope to see you all in the coming days as we anxiously wait to reopen at 100% capacity as early as mid June!
