Must be Santa: Portsmouth volunteer firefighters readied the department’s DUWK 50 years ago to travel the town’s streets, bringing Christmas cheer to all. That’s firefighter Ronald Costic behind the beard. The Christmas DUWK program was initiated by volunteers in 1964. This photo appeared in the Dec. 14, 1972 issue of The Sakonnet Times.
