We all tried a bite. It's amazing. Not too sweet, super chocolatey, and quite moist... just in time for our Father's Day Weekend deals.

Just like we did for moms on Mother's Day, this time around, the dads get free dessert on Sunday, June 21st*. We have a lot of options to choose from, so there's something for everyone.

We'll also have a card decorating station for the kids, and hopefully nice weather so you can utilize our patio games.

*Free dessert with the purchase of a meal.
**Kids still eat free on Sundays. (Free kids meal with the purchase of an adult entree).

🙁 Monday might just be the saddest day of the week.

❎ Not because most of you have to go back to work, but mostly because we aren't open.

A couple of months back, we attended the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas.

In one of the seminars hosted by Chris Decker of Truly Pizza fame, with participation from the audience, we created a seasonal pizza called "April in Vegas," that would include roasted apricots, prosciutto, garlic oil, goat cheese, mozzarella, walnuts, and maybe a lemon zest. We had one task: take the idea back home to our own pizzerias and put our spin on it.

I don't listen well, so I forgot to do this back in April, and when I got the urge to give it a go today, I was light on apricots. (Read: I had none). So I improvised. Pears aren't in season for at least another month, but I got that organic 'ish that will make you drool. Instead of "April in Vegas," I'm calling it "Seasonally Unaware in Portsmouth."

I started with our homemade dough, drizzled a little garlic oil, added fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, and goat cheese. While that was cooking in the 900° inferno, I roasted some pears with a little bit of cinnamon, crumbled up some walnuts and waited. Halfway through cooking, we pulled the pizza, added the pear and walnuts, and set it to forget it.

After a whopping 6.5-7 minutes, we pulled that baby out, brushed the crust with garlic oil, and drizzled some hot honey for a little extra pizazz.

Considering how quickly it disappeared, we'd say it's a winner.

Now we're calling out our local pizzerias and putting them up to the challenge. Hey Show us what you've got! :)

PS: Yeah, I know it's so far from the original version. But you can't stop a chef with an ego. Kidding. I was working with what I had. Times are hard, man. Eat more pizza.
