Some people are regulars. Some people become part of the place.
Gary Paquin was the second kind.
For nearly 15 years, if you were on shift at the pub, chances are you’d see Gary posted up at the bar with dad jokes ready, asking how your day was going, and making sure you felt like part of the conversation whether it was your first shift or your hundredth.
Over time, “regular” stopped feeling like the right word. Gary became a friend to the staff, a presence, and a piece of what made St. John’s feel like home.
We were lucky to have him in our orbit, and we miss him dearly.
Today, Gary lives on as our resident “pub dad” on the wall (beautifully illustrated by our very own Liv) still right here with us in the space he helped shape just by being himself.
Forever part of the pub. 🍻💕
