You always knew your mad spelling skills would pay off with an amazing career or something. Now they could pay off with real cold, hard cash! Monday, December 20, is our first-ever Tournament of Champions. If you've won a Bee before, you're eligible to compete for our $200 top prize. Everyone can compete for a cash prize of $25 per round in our Tournament of Possible Future Champions, held the very same night.

Whoa, check it out... we're in the paper! Come see what all the spelling buzz is about on Mondays at 6:30.

Whether it's answering trivia questions, rocking their spelling chops, or learning about Oregon history, these 'brightlife' smarty-pants are having fun and using their noodles in bars and pubs all over Portland.

So apparently 6:30 is a thing that works for people! Great to see all 22 of you on stage last night (or was it 23?). And the Balderdash round (a "jillet" is "the part of a pig that wiggles seductively") and Funny Sentence round ("Since he wasn't wearing a belt, we caught a glimpse of his TURBARY") just added to the fun.

Hey, all... mad props to Connor Aberle, our local boy done good. He's made it once again to the semifinals at the Scripps National Spelling Bee and will be on ESPN tomorrow at 7am (yikes!), plus possibly on ABC at 5pm if he makes it to the finals.
