Soft mousse with a hint of bourbon topped with bananas sautéed in butter and brown sugar and then flambéed with bourbon. John had fun playing with fire. It came out exactly like how I dreamed it would be, but John already has plans for improving it next time. That inclination toward constant improvement is why John’s cooking is always a little magical.

Come and get one of our classic grilled cheese sandwiches. Pair it with the traditional tomato soup or any other side.

Yesterday the writing community said good bye to Steve Arndt. A beautiful writer himself, he was best known as a supporter of other writers. He was in the front row at every reading, holding seats for the other close friends of the author. Steve made sure to celebrate people. He gave a great toast. He gave embarrassingly kind and accurate and specific compliments. Steve also introduced people who needed to know each other. The writing community is a community because of him. His memory is a blessing.
