Hello, Everybody! This is Nick S. and I hope you have had a wonderful Holiday Season, New Year, and Lunar New Year!

5 years ago, I took over ownership here at Thai Orchid Restaurant on Barbur Blvd. I have been working with the restaurants for 30 years and it is always a wonderful experience!

The past 5 years have been very special and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve so many wonderful people and help them have better times and moments with loved ones!

Thai Orchid Restaurant is still going strong and Barbur continues to serve as well as the other independantly run location (also by loved ones) in Vancouver and Salem!

Like many people, I decided to have a change of pace, focus more on family, health, and other adventures. I have retired from restaurant ownership, though I am still around and involved with the business as I do some consulting on the side as well as manage some supplies and keep in touch with the Thai Orchid Restaurant legacy created in the Pacific Northwest by my Mother (Penny) and my Father (Na) 💕

Last Fall, we welcomed a wonderful new family into the Thai Orchid Family! Nong & Tul now own the Thai Orchid Restaurant on Barbur Blvd and they are wonderful, nice, and excited people. We hope you welcome their family as you have welcomed mine—please be open, kind, communicative, and supportive to them as you have to me and my family.

The same great staff you know and love are still at Barbur and they are using the same recipes my Mother created with the same love and care. Thai Orchid remains strong, thanks to all of you!

I also look forward to seeing you in the restaurant, as a fellow customer 💕

As of this week, I pass the page to Nong. Thank you all so very much, it has been a wonderful privilege and an honor!

Happy Holidays!

Thai Orchid Portland will be open until 8:00pm on Christmas Eve and Closed on Christmas Day.

We will be open at our regular hours all other days, including New Years!

We apologize for inaccurate information on our Google Listing, we are still reclaiming it after a marketing partner hijacked it 😔

UPDATE: We are open 😎

Thai Orchid in Portland, Oregon will be closed today due to the Heatwave.

We take our role in providing food, even during emergencies, very seriously. However, our air conditioning and heating/cooling precautions were overwhelmed during these record setting temperatures.

We thank you for your patience and wish everyone good health, safety, and comfort 🙏🏼

(You can also check with Thai Orchid in Salem and in Vancouver, they are probably ready to serve wonderful food, safely, today 🙏🏼)

Thai Orchid Restaurant on Barbur is opening at 4:00pm today for dinner.

We took the Sunday lunch to remember our family member, friend, and honorable employee, Joaquin, who left this world in a car accident one year ago.

His presence, kindness, and love is felt everyday still 🙏🏼💕

We are open for Take Out at our normal hours today (Monday)! We have power, but internet and phone has been tricky this morning and we are sorting it out.

Well, it’s certainly a cold, cold Valentine’s (and Oregon’s Birth) Day this year...

We hope you are staying warm and safe this weekend.

Thai Orchid Restaurant on Barbur Blvd will be open 4:00pm-9:30pm this evening for Take Out and Delivery Service (Uber Eats & Postmates) to serve those who can be served safely tonight.

Please take good care and we wish to support the community just like they have supported us 💕🙏

To avoid confusion and clarify:

Thai Orchid Restaurant in PORTLAND (Barbur Blvd) will remain TAKE OUT & DELIVERY ONLY. We do not plan to open Dine-In in the near future.

We trust in the staff and facilities in Thai Orchid in VANCOUVER and support their decision to offer DINE-IN, Take-Out, and Delivery.

Thai Orchid in Salem, like Portland, will remain Take-Out and Delivery Only for the foreseeable future.

We hope this clarifies things for all of our customers and we are all so happy to serve you! Each location is independently owned, but all are rooted in sharing the same history, passion for service, and Chef Penny’s recipes and vision 💕
