I wonder if Mother Nature knows that this is Oregon, not Arizona or California. We Oregonians don't know how to function in such hot weather. At least this one doesn't.
I get everything I need to get done by noon. Then after that I'm no good to anyone. I eat popsicles and take a nap. Seriously.

I baked blueberry bars and millionaire magic bars. Tomorrow I'm baking orange bread. Thursday the schedule has chocolate chip cookies and snickerdoodles.

24 years ago today, my heart was broken and my life changed forever.

I'm most grateful to all my friends and family who showed up for me.

Friends who waited for my real answer when they asked me how I was doing even when I said I was fine.
Friends who didn't run away when they found out what happened.

I think when people know your in the midst of grief they get scared and don't know what to say or do.

I'm grateful to all who was/is just there. Just being able to sob and not have to explain is the best gift ever.
