What makes me a tea wizard? Because I know what certain teas do because of where they’re grown, when they’re picked, and how they’re processed. Sure those give them unique flavors. The secret is that they also give them different energies. Curious?

It was time to stop holding the door open that wanted to close. So this iteration of Taiji Teahouse has closed. But don’t worry if you love my tea service and food I’m already in talks with someone to reopen it somewhere else in the coming months. If you’re wanting to take tai chi classes with me, those are still available, though they’ll probably be taught in a park since I don’t have the teahouse space.

Dear community,

Due to a number of factors: financial viability, lease conditions, and mounting debt, I will have to close Taiji Teahouse & Cafe at the end of June. You have until Saturday to come in and partake in the closing of this chapter of the teahouse, and my life. I plan to have a closing party on Saturday the 29th, so look out for that event on IG and Facebook. Come run me out of food and tea =) -

Maybe the Teahouse will pop back up somewhere else in Portland….maybe Sellwood. I’ll let you know. Keep tuned in. - Eric Arthur

Taijiquan is NOT a martial art. It is taught by martial artist, but it is not a martial system. NEITHER is it a movement to target health challenges. That would be qigong.

Taiji is a self mastery practice that keeps us from having to use martial arts or qigong.
