It’s easy to forget that Oma’s Hideaway began as Oma’s Takeaway. Way back in March of 2020 we had an 8 month old restaurant, Gado Gado, a 2 month old baby, and the world shut down. We knew we had to keep moving forward, we literally didn’t have a choice, but we weren’t sure how until Tom suggested that we return to our pop up roots and lean into doing whatever felt right on any given night. Oma’s Takeaway was our pandemic pivot. It was FUN. Oma’s embraced freedom, pleasure, “Asian stoner food,” and squeezing whatever joy we could out of a very challenging time. We started doing Oma’s burger nights on Sundays and you all SHOWED UP!!!! The ticket machine was non-stop and we pumped out Oma-zing burgers every Sunday night until it was time for Gado Gado to come out of hibernation and reclaim its spot in Hollywood. We knew we weren’t ready to say goodbye to Oma’s so we moved her over to our current home on Division st in 2021.
We feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to evolve. In celebration, for our 5th birthday we’ll be offering Oma-zing burgers for just $5
